Engineer Cameraman — Economy Spike Unit Guide
Cash Spike vs Snowball: Engineer's Role
Engineer Cameraman delivers a single large cash spike when placed early, compared to Scientist Cameraman's steady per-kill income. Players who need faster cash flow to afford their first Mythic carry prefer Engineer; players who plan long stall strategies prefer Scientist. Both work in optimized teams—pick based on your early-game cash flow goal.
Engineer and Scientist together create a hybrid Economy layer that neither unit achieves alone. Place both before wave 5 on Standard maps for the fastest possible income ramp.
Placement and Timing
Place Engineer Cameraman before wave 5; the cash spike must land before you commit your first Mythic placement. Tile choice is less critical than timing for Engineer—the spike fires regardless of position.
Upgrade Engineer first if you need faster cash spike, Scientist first if you plan long stall strategies. Document this decision on the best builds page once your roster is locked.
Trait Priority
Super Payday first if Engineer is your primary Economy unit; Payday for budget teams. Avoid damage traits on Economy slots.
Pair with Scientist Cameraman for double Economy snowball once Super Payday lands on both.
Long-Term Use
Keep Engineer Cameraman in Economy slots throughout the game unless a higher-tier Economy unit releases. The cash spike timing becomes less critical late-game but the Super Payday roll still matters.
